Apple itself doesn’t typically do much for Black Friday. It generally runs a minor gift card deal to attract some attention, but the real discounts on Apple products every year are at other retailers, like Amazon and Best Buy. I’ve covered Apple products for more than a decade, and I fully expect that to be the case once again for Black Friday 2024. But what kinds of deals can we expect? You can bet we’ll see discounts on a number of Apple products, including AirPods, iPads, and Apple Watches. Let’s dive in.
AirPod Deals for Black Friday 2024
AirPods are probably the most popular Apple product with IGN readers, and for good reason: They’re great. I’m on my second pair of AirPods Pro (I gave my first pair to my daughter), and I couldn’t live without them. They’re also pretty much always on sale at Amazon for well below what Apple typically charges, including a 24% off AirPods Pro deal happening right now.
That said, all models of AirPods almost always go on sale during Black Friday for their lowest price of the year. Last year, the 2nd gen AirPods Pro with USB-C (still the newest model) dropped to $168.99 at Amazon. I would expect to see retailers match, or even beat, that price this year.
iPad Deals for Black Friday 2024
iPads are always hot commodities during Black Friday because they’re one of the main items that gets doorbuster price drops, luring shoppers into retailers like Best Buy and Walmart. Last year, the 9th gen iPad dropped to $199 – and, oddly, the price never really went back up. You can buy a 9th gen iPad for $199.99 right now.
The 10th gen iPad didn’t get any discount at all last year for Black Friday, but it’s currently $50 off at Amazon, so I’d expect to see a deeper discount when the big day rolls around this year.
As for the other models – iPad Pro and iPad Air – they’re aimed at more specialized customers and don’t tend to see big Black Friday discounts. However, if they drop in price this year, we’ll be sure to cover them.
Apple Watch Deals for Black Friday 2024
Last year, Apple Watch Series 9 was the latest model, and it dropped to from $399 down to $329 for Black Friday. This year, the Apple Watch Series 10 is the latest and greatest, so I’m expecting to see the same deal repeated. Both Apple Watch models came out in September of their respective years, so that’s a fairly sizable price drop just two months after release.
As for the other models, the souped-up Apple Watch Ultra 2 dropped from $799 to $739, a meager 8% discount. The Apple Watch SE (2nd gen), meanwhile, dropped to $179 from $249. Neither of those models has a new iteration this year, so it would be nice to see a steeper price cut on them.
AirTags on Sale for Black Friday 2024
Another offshoot Apple product that many people find useful but probably don’t think about too much: AirTags. These are location devices you can attach to things you’re likely to lose but don’t want to lose, like your keys, luggage, purse, kids, whatever. Last year, Amazon had a four-pack of AriTags on sale for $74.99. Like iPads, they never really went back up to full price, so you can snag four of them now for $79.98 at Amazon. I expect to see an even bigger discount as we get closer to the main sales event.
