David Lynch's most popular work is arguable among his fans, but Twin Peaks has had the farthest reach beyond those hungry for his peculiar style. It paved the way for shows like The X-Files and Fringe while introducing television audiences to FBI Agent Dale Cooper and the various unique inhabitants of the titular town. The ineffable charm of Twin Peaks also infected video games as early as the original Silent Hill. The setting of a small town full of wacky characters set against real-world and supernatural evils is a formula that would be seen over the years, such as in the Remedy games Alan Wake and Control. No other game paid as much homage (or outright stole) as the 2010 release, Deadly Premonition.
