Take a look at an exclusive new clip of the upcoming story expansion for Tales of Arise: Beyond the Dawn. The expansion takes place one year after the events of Tales of Arise and follows a young girl named Nazamil as the main party of six find her by chance. The story will also explore what the party has been up to since.
In this clip, Nazamil is seen running away from three people trying to chase her down for unknown reasons. She eventually finds herself cornered and uses her powers to conceal herself, allowing her to shake off her pursuers.
As she heads off into the distance, the scene cuts away to Arise protagonists Alphen and Shionne. They’re simply walking around and trying to enjoy the scenery. However, Shionne comments that it’s hard to take in the nice weather with so many enemies around. Alphen then casually warns her to keep on her guard, as they never know what might be lurking around the corner, hinting at possible events to come.
Nazamil is half Renan and half Dahnan, which makes her a unique individual as she’s able to channel astral arts due to her Renan heritage. She’s fated to fall under the curse of a certain mask, and it’s up to the party to find a way to prevent that.
Beyond the Dawn came as a surprise announcement since the Tales series producer Yusuke Tomizawa confirmed a few years ago that Tales of Arise wouldn’t receive any story DLC. However that has changed and now Beyond the Dawn will be available on November 9 for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.
Check out IGN’s exclusive interview with Tomizawa as he discusses the motivations behind creating Beyond the Dawn and what possibilities the future holds for the Tales franchise.
