The Marvel Cinematic Universe shake-up continues after a trend of poor box office returns and critical reception. Most recently, The Marvels became the lowest-grossing film in the franchise. News-wise, Destin Daniel Cretton is no longer directing Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, which is one of the moves Marvel Studios has made to correct course as of late. Cretton will now develop a Shang-Chi sequel and Wonder Man series. Kevin Feige announced Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars with the usual Marvel flair at San Diego Comic-Con in 2022. Since then, not only has one film lost a director, but both have also featured release date delays and other changes.
