For a long time now, despite a less than stellar ending, HBO's Game of Thrones has been considered to be the peak of the fantasy genre on TV. The show brought in millions of viewers and was a global sensation. It was a juggernaut of a show that spawned one spinoff with more in talks. Game of Thrones had audiences everywhere glued to the screen to see what would happen next in Westeros and each week the audience was blown away. Now though, as the glimmer of Game of Thrones fades away, The Wheel of Time has risen to take over the throne as the premier fantasy TV series.
