Most Studio Ghibli movies read like fairytales. Nearly all the movies have fantasy elements to them, from the magical realism of Only Yesterday to Chihiro's isekai journey to a total fantasy world in Spirited Away. Many of the beings in Hayao Miyazaki's stories are inspired by folkloric figures and concepts.
