With Forza and Gran Turismo's ever-expanding car customization, Need for Speed and The Crew's arcade-y open worlds, and the increasingly polished mechanics of Codemasters' F1 and Dirt series, racing games continue to evolve with new ideas and innovations. Despite this, modern racing games have yet to replicate the unrivaled thrill and explosive action of Criterion Game's 2004 racing masterpiece, Burnout 3: Takedown.
