Godzilla has starred in several movies, many of which have their own unique takes on the King of the Monsters. These different versions change his powers, appearance and allegiance, with some incarnations being more heroic or villainous than others. At the end of the day, however, the iconic character began as a ferocious allegory for nuclear power, and this concept was grotesquely modernized in Shin Godzilla.
