SP Media Group, Republic Pictures and Paramount Global Distribution present The Painter, combining a high-octane spy-thriller with a complex family drama featuring the talents of Jon Voight, Charlie Weber, Maidson Bailey and Marie Avgeropoulos. Directed by Kimani Ray Smith, who exploded onto the festival circuit in 2011 with the short film Suffer in 2011, and has since directed two feature films and a handful of TV episodes, including Van Helsing and Fort Salem. The Painter was written by Brian Buccellato, who has written some impressive short films, like Sons of the Devil in 2014 and Ark Exitus in 2020, as well as collaborating with SP Media Group and Jon Voight in 2022, to write the critically panned Dangerous Game: The Legacy Murders.
