Monarch: Legacy of Monsters is Apple TV+'s big-budgeted attempt to bring Godzilla's MonsterVerse into new territory. The first thing to note, to which anyone who's seen the previews can attest, is that this is a series made with the same CGI expertise as its cinematic counterparts and has a scope that few if any, monster-centric series have ever come close to. Whether or not that is a good thing, or whether a Godzilla property can withstand the burden of having to carry a lot of curious humans across multiple timelines, is another thing.
