Marvel presents Luke Cage: Gang War #1, a comic helping kick off the Gang War event, planned to stretch from now until a climactic conclusion in March 2024. Written by Rodney Barnes, illustrated by Ramón F. Bachs, with colors by Andrew Dalhouse and letters by VC's Travis Lanham, this issue explores a power vacuum in the criminal underworld of New York City that has created large-scale conflict. The Anti-Vigilante Act put in place by the previous mayor, Wilson Fisk, A.K.A. Kingpin, has left the city helpless to defend itself against villains. This crossover event is slated to feature a star-studded cast of New York-centric heroes, including issues following Spider-Man, Spider-Woman, Miles Morales, Daredevil, Shang-Chi, and, of course, Luke Cage: former Hero for Hire, now the Mayor of New York.
