When it comes to classic JRPGs, there's no better example or more popular franchise than Square Enix's Final Fantasy. This was especially the case during the 16-bit era, with the series being instrumental in helping the Super Nintendo Entertainment System fend off the competition of the Sega Genesis. For as prominent as it was, however, it was the only example of fantastic role-playing games on the SNES.
