Spy x Family is a shonen anime with plenty of traditional spy conflict and action. Shonen anime tend to prioritize adventure, heroism, and external conflict. In contrast, shojo anime focus on romance, relationships, and internal character growth. Spy x Family leans far more into its romance and relationships than the average shonen series--there's about an even split between romance and spy adventures in the series' story arcs.
