The anime industry is famous for inspirational characters who overcome the greatest odds. Despite the variety that anime offers in genre, subject material and tone, many of the leading characters look the same. Representation in this industry is often discussed, but one group that is left out too often is members of the Disabled Community. Anime about this diverse group are few and far between, but the 2024 Winter anime season has another rare series that features the perspective of someone who is deaf.
