As a franchise, The Addams Family has undoubtedly earned their beloved status in pop culture. There's arguably no bad televised or cinematic iteration of the fictional family. Nevertheless, that doesn't mean that each rendition of the characters encapsulates the same themes or mood. This circumstance is possibly by design, though, especially when the property's iconic theme song is considered. Using the catchy jingle as a type of guideline, not only has the Addams household always been a prime illustration of all things "spooky," "creepy," or "ooky" (unpleasing or repellent by definition), but they also have a wonderful "sweet" side. The Addams Family, thus, has an inherent duality, which unfortunately doesn't always get displayed in every adaptation.
