Zack Snyder has announced a Netflix release date for his Rebel Moon director's cuts, both of which have new titles.
The filmmaker took to X/Twitter to announce that Rebel Moon - Chapter One: Chalice of Blood (the director's cut of Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire) and Rebel Moon - Chapter Two: Curse of Forgiveness (the extended version of Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver) will be available to stream on Netflix from August 2.

Snyder shared three images featuring Jimmy, Balisarius, and Kora from the movies that offered a first look at the director's cuts, which Netflix, according to Variety, said will "delve further into the mythology and madness" of the epic two-part sci-fi saga unravelling in the "viciously sexier, bloodier world of Rebel Moon."
Both movies will be R-rated and presumably longer than the original releases, which clock in at over two hours for each chapter. Snyder previously shared that "they're each about an hour longer" than the PG-13 versions, potentially making for a six-hour saga if Netflix subscribers watch the two movies back-to-back.
The original version of Rebel Moon - Part One arrived on Netflix on December 15, 2023, followed by Part Two on April 19, 2024. The movies received generally negative reviews from critics, with IGN giving both installments a 4/10, noting that the sequel "delivers a half-baked conclusion to a well-trodden story."
Snyder has admitted that his movies are "always very polarising," so he is already anticipating the reaction to his director's cuts of Rebel Moon because, in his own words, they are "a different kettle of fish" and include "all the gore and the hard R-ness and the nudity and the violence and crazy s**t" that initially got left out."
Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire and Rebel Moon - Part Two: The Scargiver are currently streaming on Netflix, with Rebel Moon - Chapter One: Chalice of Blood and Rebel Moon - Chapter Two: Curse of Forgiveness releasing on August 2 amid a stacked summer slate for theaters and streaming services.
