Star Wars Rebels introduced a very different brand of Jedi in Kanan Jarrus. A core member of the Ghost crew who acted as one of the rebel cell's leaders alongside Hera Syndulla, Kanan had once been the Jedi Padawan Caleb Dume. At the end of the Clone Wars, Caleb escaped with his life thanks to the intervention of the Bad Batch, but had to watch his master, Depa Billaba, die. Billaba died along with the rest of the Jedi Order and the beliefs they had once held. Clearly, the moment had a profound impact on Kanan, because his Jedi path found a surprising new direction from that moment on.
