Spoiler Warning: This episode features spoilers for Episode 3 of Star Wars: Ahsoka.
Ahsoka Episode 3 is now available on Disney+ and fans are loving one scene that looks straight out of Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
The scene had Ahsoka, who was one star of The Clone Wars alongside her Jedi master Anakin Skywalker, don a space suit and jump around on the wings of her space ship to draw incoming fire from her enemies.
Ahsoka was trying to distract them from attacking her own ship while co-pilot Sabine got it up and running again, and she even managed to take one out completely while jumping around with her lightsabers.
"Ahsoka standing on the outside of the ship deflecting ship blaster fire with a lightsaber then flipping off and slicing a wing. That's a Clone Wars type visual," said Rommas in response to a Reddit post discussing Episode 3.
"I just watched a Clone Wars episode. This show is great," added Darth_Monerus. "When Ahsoka went into space with her sabers… man that was pure Rebels/Clone Wars. That was so beautifully done," said BigChickenBrock.
The Clone Wars animated series ran for seven seasons, telling the story of Anakin and his Padawan Ahsoka. Set between his creepy teenager phase in Attack of the Clones and his angry adult phase in Revenge of the Sith, the Anakin of The Clone Wars is a fun and rebellious leader known for taking unconventional routes to success.
"Ahsoka in space was like in Clone Wars and was totally an Anakin-like plan," said another Reddit user. generaltekno agreed: "God, love to see an Anakin plan in live action. As that was absolutely an Anakin plan."
The similarities make sense, of course, as Ahsoka creator Dave Filoni also led development of The Clone Wars with Star Wars creator George Lucas. Filoni went on to helm Rebels, Tales of the Jedi, and co-lead The Mandalorian with Jon Favreau. He's even getting his own film that will seemingly connect all of these shows together.
The remaining five episodes of Ahsoka will stream every Tuesday at 6pm Pacific / 9pm Eastern and every Wednesday at 2am UK. Disney revealed 14 million watched its premiere across the world, though third-party data suggests the show came in on par with Andor and down 50% from Obi-Wan Kenobi.
