Star Trek has its share of tough-as-nails characters who aren't afraid to hit back. Starting with Captain James T. Kirk on The Original Series, every show since then has featured someone who will knock people down with extreme prejudice. That's more likely to be the chief of security than the medical personnel, however. Figures like Dr. Hugh Culber on Star Trek: Discovery and Dr. Beverly Crusher on Star Trek: The Next Generation are far more inclined to solve problems with a tricorder than a phaser, and rarely get involved in the franchise's scrappier side.
