The 5th Edition Dungeons and Dragons Player's Handbook gives a decent enough collection of races to choose from for character creation. But after a while, those races just become boring. A party can only have so many elves before they need to spice things up. Thankfully, Dungeons and Dragons has since included a wide variety of playable options once relegated to the Monster Manual.
