It'll still be awhile until we get to see Thunderbolts, the upcoming Marvel team-up that's due out in May 2025. But, thanks to star Florence Pugh, we have a very quick look at the film in the form of a behind-the-scenes video she posted from the set, including a first glimpse at her new Yelena Belova costume.
Pugh posted the video on her Instagram today, in which she cheekily points out that she probably shouldn't be doing this.
"I know that I've kind of dropped off for a little bit," Pugh says as she steps out of her trailer. "But that's partly because I was whisked off to Atlanta to go and shoot a movie that I'm not really allowed to talk much about, but I can show you some things, sneakily." She then pulls the camera back to give a look at her new Yelena suit.
The combat-ready costume is a bit different from the mostly white ensemble we saw her in in Black Widow, although pretty similar to the look in the Thunderbolts concept art that we got back at D23 2022.
She continues to walk through the set, although she keeps it vague enough that we can't really make out too much else. She does, though, manage to sneak up on director Jake Schreier, showing off the Thunderbolts logo and what could be considered a blink-and-you-miss-it first still from the movie, which appears to be Yelena herself pointing a gun.
It ain't much, but hey, it's something.
One thing that may or may no be notable: if you look closely enough at the chair in the video, you can see the title Thunderbolts now has an asterisk after it. In Marvel's own sharing of Pugh's video, it also stylizes the movie title at "Marvel Studios' Thunderbolts*." We're not sure exactly what this means, but it's definitely no accident.

Pugh will be joined in Thunderbolts by Julia Louis-Dreyfuss (Valentina Allegra de Fontaine), David Harbour (Red Guardian), Hannah John-Kamen (Ghost), Wyatt Russell (US Agent), Olga Kurylenko (Taskmaster), and Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier).
Steven Yeun and Ayo Edebiri were previously in the cast, but both dropped out earlier this year following strike-related delays. Geraldine Viswanathan has stepped into Edebiri's undisclosed role, while it's been reported that Lewis Pullman has been tapped to take over the role of Sentry from Yeun.
Thunderbolts is something of Marvel's answer to DC's Suicide Squad, and will show Louis-Dreyfuss' Valentina attempting to manage this team of MCU anti-heroes. After various release calendar shuffles, it's now set to debut on May 2, 2025.
