In the world of My Hero Academia, Quirks are an unexplained phenomenon that first emerged in humanity about a century ago. The first recorded Quirk was a glowing baby that shocked the entire world, but since his miraculous birth, more and more people with supernatural abilities have continued to be born until the current generation when about 80% of the population possesses a Quirk. While every Quirk has something that makes it unique, the sheer number of people that possess them almost necessitates that a few will share certain similarities. During the series' run, at least three characters have been revealed to be possessing blood-related Quirks.
