After Season 3's visit to the titular station, Star Trek: Lower Decks Season 4 just did another stealth sequel to Deep Space Nine. The USS Cerritos goes to Ferengar to negotiate with the Grand Nagus, the leader of the Ferengi people, about joining the Federation. The negotiations between Admiral Vassery, Captain Freeman and DS9's own Rom paid off the latter character's arc in that series. It makes perfect sense that Rom would want to join the Federation, but he's still a Ferengi at heart.
