Geoff Johns has become one of the most popular comic book writers of the past few decades. He was instrumental in rehabilitating several major DC books and properties, namely Green Lantern, Aquaman and the Justice Society of America. Recently, he's also written a series of creator-owned books published by Image Comics, starting with Geiger. While these aren't a part of the DC Universe, they do seem to be based on obscure DC properties.
