Freddy Krueger won the hearts of his fanbase by being a quippy and clever dream-walking killer. Meanwhile, Jason Voorhees used his strength and inability to die to spark a series of similar '80s slasher movies. But even though slashers are the main draw of these movies, fans have always held a soft spot in their hearts for the heroes who challenge them.
