PlayStation Plus subscribers’ free Essential games for September are Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions, MLB The Show 24, and Little Nightmares 2, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced Wednesday. Players can download the trio of games beginning Tuesday, Sept. 3.
Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions is Warner Bros. Games’ take on the fictional sport of quidditch. Developed by Unbroken Games, Quidditch Champions will let players compete alongside and against familiar faces, like Ron Weasley and Draco Malfoy, in single-player and online competitive matches. Quidditch enthusiasts will also be able to create the young wizard of their choice, picking their house, clothing, and broomstick.
MLB The Show 24 is this year’s edition of Sony and San Diego Studio’s annual baseball sim. The Show 24 introduced the Women Pave Their Way mode to Road to the Show, bringing female players into career mode for the first time. The game also brought a second season of its Storylines mode featuring the Negro Leagues that included “The Trailblazer” Toni Stone, the first woman to play professional baseball regularly in a major men’s professional baseball league.
Little Nightmares 2 is a horror puzzle-platformer developed by Tarsier Studios, the studio behind the original Little Nightmares (and the upcoming Reanimal). Players control Mono, a mouse-sized child exploring a regular-sized world full of monsters and dark secrets.
September 2024’s PS Plus games will be available for download through Sept. 30.
PS Plus subscribers can still pick up August’s PlayStation Plus Essential games — Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach, and Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights — through Sept. 2.
PlayStation Plus Essential is the lowest tier available in Sony Interactive Entertainment’s subscription service. It offers online multiplayer access, a monthly assortment of free PS4 and PS5 games, cloud storage, and discounts on PlayStation Store purchases. PlayStation Plus Essential costs $79.99 annually, $24.99 for a three-month subscription, or $9.99 monthly.
