DSTLRY is easily the most intriguing new comic book publisher to spring up in 2023. DSTLRY is founded by former Comixology executives and features a novel approach to digital comics releases. But none of that means anything without a top-notch lineup of creators involved. Fortunately, that's not a problem for DSTLRY, as evidenced by the upcoming series Gone.
With Gone #1 due to hit stores in October 2023, IGN can exclusively debut a new series of variant covers for the series, which is written and drawn by Batman: The Black Mirror and Snow Angels artist Jock. Check out these gorgeous new images in the slideshow gallery below:
Here's DSTLRY's official description for Gone:
On an impoverished and distant planet where menial workers scratch out a living resupplying starships, the best place to be is GONE…and that’s exactly where 13-year-old Abi wants to be. Along with her street-tough friends, Abi stows away on a colossal luxury space-liner, hoping for a better life. Unbeknownst to her, Abi’s “friends” are not who they seem, and she suddenly finds herself branded a saboteur as she desperately struggles to evade the ship’s deadly crew to stay alive! As the young heroine confronts betrayal, discovers her true allies, and fights against all odds, Abi will soon realize that nothing is farther away than…home.
Gone spins out of the pages of DSTLRY's The Devil's Cut one-shot, which features an eight-page prelude story from Jock. That issue is DSTLRY's first release and is due out in print and digital forms on Wednesday, August 30. Gone #1 will follow on October 25.
In other comic book news, Batman '89 is getting a sequel featuring the Burtonverse versions of Scarecrow and Harley Quinn, and Star Wars: Visions is making the jump to comics.
