The Walking Dead TV series diverged a lot from its source material in Image Comics. Granted, this was done to flesh out a bigger universe, which is why shows like Fear the Walking Dead and The Walking Dead: Dead City have to sprung to life more recently. Still, the early days of the show, after it premiered on AMC in 2010, stuck relatively close to the comic by Robert Kirkman, Charlie Adlard, and Tony Moore.
