The Connections puzzle in the New York Times on Friday contains a little Easter egg for fans of a popular TV show airing new episodes this spring.

Connections is a daily puzzle where you find the hidden association between groups of words on a grid. For many people, it’s a part of a daily rotation of word games that also includes the hit game, Wordle. On Friday, the editors behind the game ran a special puzzle inspired by a recent TV show that’s been especially popular this season.

If you’re the kind of person who prefers to keep their daily word puzzle unspoiled, now is your chance to go and play it before I tell you what’s so special about it.

[Ed. note: The rest of this post contains the words for the Connections puzzle on March 7.]

If you look at the grid, the Connections puzzle from Friday has words like Lumon, Mark, Helena, Dylan, and Irving on the grid. These are all references to the TV show, Severance.

Airing on Apple TV Plus, Severance is a sci-fi series starring Adam Scott (Parks and Recreation) as Mark, a middle-aged man who leads a small team of office workers at a company called Lumon. The main idea of the show is that in its world, people can separate their work selves from their selves outside the company through a procedure called “severance.”

Severance is currently airing its second season, and has already built up quite a dedicated following as viewers try to piece together the mysteries of its world. Some big questions in the show remain unanswered, but at least now, fans can puzzle through a little Severance-themed word puzzle. The fun part? Those who try the easiest and most obvious answer might be thrown for a little loop. So if you want to play, you can do so online now.
