Sony and Amazon have brought Crunchyroll's entire anime library to Prime Video as an optional add-on.

The two companies announced Tuesday that they entered a global agreement for Prime Video to distribute Crunchyroll, now available for Prime members in the U.S., U.K., Canada, and Sweden, and other territories will gain access throughout 2024.

Prime members can choose between two Crunchyroll membership tiers: Fan ($7.99/month) or Mega Fan ($9.99/month). Both tiers allow you to watch popular anime — like Spy x Family, Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon Slayer, My Hero Academia, One Piece, and more — ad-free shortly after airing in Japan. Those who subscribe to the Mega Fan tier at launch will be able to download any anime title for offline viewing, with "additional non-video benefits" to be added to the platform soon.

Those prices, it should be noted, are the same as a separate Crunchyroll membership. So while this isn't necessarily an opportunity for fans to save money, it does offer a little convenience for those who subscribe to Prime and Crunchyroll separately, allowing the two to be billed as part of one Prime membership and for Crunchyroll shows to be streamed via the Prime Video apps.

Crunchyroll's addition to Prime Video comes a week after Crunchyroll launched a free 24/7 ad-supported anime channel in the US on LG Channels, Roku TV, Vizio WatchFree+, and Amazon's Freevee channel. The channel features a line-up of older anime dubbed in English, including To Your Eternity, Horiyama, Ranking of Kings, Psycho-Pass, and Code Geass.
