Wolverine is known for taking on all comers, fighting through the worst odds imaginable in order to win. However, sometimes all comers means more than just enemies of varying strength levels. Marvel has made the "heroes fighting heroes" trope an important part of its DNA, and Wolverine has played into that very well.
