Assists in Marvel Rivals are when you help an ally get an elimination during the game.
Duelist and Vanguard players might not be getting as many assists as their Strategist counterparts, but that’s due to how they help allies get eliminations — so rather than not getting the final hit on an enemy, you need to look through other means.

How to get assists in Marvel Rivals
Assists work a little differently in Marvel Rivals. In other shooters, you’ll get an assist if you dealt damage or provided some sort of effect such as slowing or stunning the enemy without getting the final hit.
In Marvel Rivals, you’ll get an assist strictly from providing an extra effect to your teammates such as a heal, slow, and damage boost. You will not get an assist from dealing damage without getting the final hit, which instead will count towards your eliminations.
To know if you’re getting assists, look out for the assist icon that will appear on your screen once you’ve gotten an assist. You can also open the scoreboard and look for your total assist count.
Best way to get assists in Marvel Rivals
The best way to get assists in Marvel Rivals is to play as any of the Strategists due to their ability to heal. If you heal a teammate that defeats an enemy, you’ll get an easy assist. Some Strategists may have an easier time to get assists as their heals are readily available and not cooldown-based like Adam Warlock. Make sure to focus on healing, as any damage dealt will switch your assist to an elimination.
Another hero to look out for is Storm. Storm’s “Weather Control” ability allows you to empower all allies within your vicinity with either a movement speed or damage buff, which will allow you to get assists on eliminations even if you missed all of your shots.
