The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 2, officially dubbed The Book of Carol, hits AMC and AMC+ in summer 2024.
Daryl actor Norman Reedus confirmed the release window in an Instagram Story, posting what appears to be stills from a trailer. No footage was shown, but two title cards with the official title of the second season alongside the summer 2024 window were shared.
Reedus didn't share anything else about the show, though as the title would suggest, AMC previously confirmed it's the proper Daryl and Carol spin-off which was promised in 2020.
Melissa McBride will reprise her role from the main Walking Dead series as a regular cast member alongside Reedus.
“I’ve known there was much more to be told of Carol’s story as I felt her so unsettled when we last saw her, as she watched her best friend, Daryl, ride away," McBride said of the announcement in 2023. "Apart or (hopefully) together, their stories run deep, and I’m so excited to continue Carol’s journey here. This team of storytellers have done amazing work to land these two established characters in an entirely new world to them, and I’m loving the discoveries."
The show was renewed for a second season before it even premiered, but eventually arrived in September 2023 to positive reviews.
"The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon is an enjoyable rehabilitation of the Daryl character, taking him on a hero's journey through France that allows him to open up, enjoy life, be a badass, and genuinely change his zompocalypse footing," IGN said in our 7/10 review.
