Someone Already Invaded the Stage at Gamescom Opening Night Live

In a repeat of the closing moments of The Game Awards 2022, Gamescom Opening Night Live has already been invaded by a pair of stage crashers.

During host Geoff Keighley's opening remarks, two people rushed up onto the stage. One went right up to the microphone in Keighley's hand and said, "Bill Clinton wants to play GTA 6.... Bill Clinton, GTA 6. I want to play GTA 6." This is clearly a reference to The Game Awards 2022 stage crasher, who interrupted FromSoftware's Game of the Year celebration by saying, "I want to thank everybody and say I think I want to nominate [sic] this award to my reformed orthodox rabbi, Bill Clinton. Thank you, everybody."

Security quickly arrived on stage and escorted the two stage crashers off-screen, while the audience booed. Keighley expressed his disappointment, saying, "Really disappointed... That's just so disappointing. This is a such a special night for so many developers, and it's really disappointing to see someone act that way. But we're going to move right on with the show, we've got a lot of great games to show you."

Following The Game Awards last year, Keighley confirmed that the stage crasher had been arrested. As we told you back in December, don't do this. Again, stage crashers have been known to cause real harm. We don't want to make light of this act.
