DC Comics has created some of the best teams in comics. Beginning with the Golden Age Justice Society of America and spinning into the Silver Age with the formation of the Justice League, team books are something at which DC excels. One of its best Silver Age teams, and often cited as the team that inspired Stan Lee's X-Men, was the Doom Patrol. Debuting in 1963, the team has since become an icon for weirdness, science fiction, and social outcast stories in comics.
