Disney has revealed the second wave of Marvel and Star Wars shows getting physical steelbooks includes The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, Moon Knight, Andor, and Obi-Wan Kenobi.
These 4K UHD and Blu-ray versions will be the first physical editions of these four shows, which were previously only available through the Disney+ streaming platform, when they release April 30, 2024. All four will be available to preorder on March 12.
Like the first wave of Marvel Studios and Lucasfilm Collectors Editions — WandaVision, Loki, and The Mandalorian Seasons 1 and 2, which released in 2023 — the second wave will come with unique steelbook covers and collectible concept art cards.
Bonus features come on each disc too. Both Marvel offerings have a gag reel, deleted scenes, and a Making Of documentary. The Falcon and The Winter Soldier also comes with the Cap's Shield featurette and Moon Knight comes with the Egyptology featurette.
The Star Wars shows have plenty too. Obi-Wan Kenobi comes with featurettes called Duels of the Fate: Obi-Wan vs Vader, The Dark Times: Villains, Designing The Galaxy, and Director's Commentary. Andor comes with featurettes called Ferrix Part 1: Imperial Occupation, Aldhani: Rebel Heist, Coruscant: Whispers of Rebellion, Narkina 5: One Way Out, and Ferrix Part 2: Fight the Empire.
It's hard to predict which Disney+ shows will arrive in the next wave (or when they'll be released) as the physical releases have been a tad sporadic so far. While WandaVision and The Mandalorian were the first of each franchise's expansion into the TV space, Loki was Marvel's third and therefore usurped The Falcon and The Winter Soldier in the first wave of steelbooks.
While this gap will soon be filled with the second wave, both What If..? Season 1 and Hawkeye arrived before Moon Knight, and The Book of Boba Fett arrived before Obi-Wan Kenobi. Regardless, Disney has made its intentions to release all of these shows physically fairly clear.
Andor is perhaps the standout of this current wave. It earned a 9/10 in IGN's review: "Andor is one of the very best TV shows of the year and as good as Star Wars has been in a long, long time," we said.
