Chapter 1096 of One Piece, "Kumachi," featured Shiki the Golden Lion, the main antagonist of One Piece Film: Strong World, in a speaking cameo; meanwhile, Chapter 405 of My Hero Academia, "The Final Boss," featured Katsuya and Mahoro Shimano from the Heroes Rising movie. It doesn't seem like long ago when neither of these cameos would have been seen in Shonen Jump, much less in the same week. Their appearances show just how much the relationship between canon and non-canon material has changed in the manga industry over the past few decades.
