Marvel's Spider-Man has always been one of the comics' most popular superheroes, and he's arguably had more cinematic opportunities than any of their characters. Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy was way ahead of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's inception, and even then, there was a whole other franchise reboot before Tom Holland shows up in the MCU as Peter Parker. Audiences got their first taste of Andrew Garfield's take on the iconic webslinger in 2012's The Amazing Spider-Man, and his interpretation of the character made a satisfying return alongside Tobey Maguire's Peter Parker in Spider-Man: No Way Home. The MCU's upcoming film slate has proudly advertised Avengers: Secret Wars as the follow-up to Avengers 5, which will undoubtedly shatter the superhero paradigm when it hits theaters on May 7, 2027.
