There are several different factions players can join in Starfield, like Ryujin Industries and the UC Vanguard. One faction, the Freestar Rangers, controls Freestar Collective territory and has a base in Akila City, clearly a Fallout-inspired city on the planet Akila in the Cheyenne System. Apart from being one of the best ways to get credits in Starfield, its missions tell a very compelling story.
