Black Panther has had ties to the X-Men for decades, with his previous marriage to Storm being the most well-known connection. Neither T'Challa nor the mutants have had an easy time lately. Black Panther has been stripped of his throne and is now a king in exile, simply doing what he can for the crime-ridden Wakandan city of Birnin T'Chaka, while the X-Men are once again staring down the path of extinction in Fall of X. In the midst of these uncertain times, their worlds are colliding once again. In November's Wolverine #39 (by Benjamin Percy and Juan Jose Ryp), Black Panther will be aiding the feral mutant (and fellow Avenger) in his war against Orchis. One might think the X-Men would repay this favor, but in January's Black Panther #8 (by Eve Ewing and Mack Chater), Monet St. Croix is coming to Wakanda looking for a fight with the former king of Wakanda.
