The best deals for Friday, September 22 include the new Apple AirPods Pro with USB Type-C port, a Nintendo Switch OLED console, a 10000mAh power bank to charge it, Nintendo Switch games from Gamestop and Woot, a Star Wars Clone Trooper electronic helmet, an electronic standing desk, Secretlab TITAN Evo gaming chairs, and more.
2nd Gen Apple AirPods Pro with USB Type-C for $199.99
The 2nd gen Apple AirPods Pro truly wireless noise cancelling earbuds with the universal USB Type-C charging interface is out tomorrow (September 220), and yet it's already on sale. Amazon currently has it for $199.99, a very significant $50 price drop from its $249 MSRP. The new AirPods Pro that was announced today is almost identical to the 2nd generation AirPods Pro earbuds with one key difference. Apple has replaced the proprietary Lightning port with the more universal USB Type-C. That might sound like a very trivial update, but for people who want to consolidate all of their mobile devices with the same charging cable, this is a godsend. Other small upgrades included added dust resistance and support for lossless audio when using Apple’s upcoming and massively expensive Vision Pro headset.
Baseus 10,000mAh USB Type-C Power Bank for $12.99
Right now Amazon is offering a Baseus 10,000mAh USB Type-C power bank with USB Power Delivery for only $12.99 after you clip a 35% off coupon on the product page. The 10,000mAH power bank is, I think, the perfect compromise between battery capacity and size. This Baseus model measures about 6" long and 2.7" wide, about the same size as an iPhone 14 Pro. It will charge a Nintendo Switch over two times, an iPhone 15 Pro over three times, and a full-sized iPad Pro 12.9" almost one full time. There are three ports. The USB Type-C port is both output and input, which means you can charge the power bank OR charge your devices from that same port. The USB Type-A port is output only and the Micro USB port is input only. The USB Type-C port supports Power Delivery with up to 20W of power. That's enough to fully max out the charging speed on a Nintendo Switch.
Nintendo Switch OLED (Brand New, US Model) for $289.99
Monoprice is offering the Nintendo Switch OLED gaming console for $289.99, a savings of $60. Unlike some of the other deals we've posted recently, which involve either Japanese imports with no warranty or refurbs with limited warranty, this is a brand new US model with full 1 year Nintendo warranty.
Gamestop Buy 1 Get 1 Free on Select New Video Games
Gamestop has brought back their BOGO FREE deal on select video games. The best selection is on Nintendo Switch titles like Metroid Dread, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, Fire Emblem: Three Houses, and more.
Star Wars The Black Series Clone Trooper Electronic Helmet for $99
We don't see Hasbro's Star Wars Black Series helmets discounted very often. This officially licensed Clone Trooper helmet currently sells for about $130 everywhere else. This is a one-piece adjustable wearable helmet that faithfully recreates the clone troopers from the Clone Wars series. It even features an electronic voice changer so you can sound just like them as well.
Fire Emblem Engage for Switch for $31.99
Woot is offering the new Fire Emblem Engage game for only $39.99. Engage is the latest Fire Emblem strategy game for the Nintendo Switch following the immensely popular Three Houses. We awarded the game a 9/10 in our IGN review. The gameplay is every bit as enjoyable and challenging as Three Houses and there are plenty of QoL improvements that make some of the rote sections common to SRPGs much more palatable. The story is definitely simpler and more predictable than Three Houses, but it still provides a suitable backdrop for the fun battles, and this time around your protagonist is fully voiced.
Flexispot Electric Standing Desk for $106.79
For a limited time, Amazon is offering a Flexispot 48"x24" Electric Standing Desk with a single piece maple-colored desktop surface and white frame for only $106.79 after you clip a $30 off coupon and apply code "2447TK6P". Unlike some of the other cheap desks on Amazon that uses a split top surface for easier packaging, this is a single piece with no seams. The 0.6" thick desktop is sturdy enough to support up to 132 pounds, so people with heavy full-tower PCs and 48" displays (like myself) won't have to worry. The legs are made of steel and are connected by a horizontal crossbrace for desktop support. The single electric motor lift mechanism offers height adjustment from 28.6" to 46.3", at a speed of 0.6" per second.
Buy 57" Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 Monitor, Get $500 Best Buy Credit
Samsung recently announced it's massive 57" Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 gaming monitor for a tune of $2499.99, but if you preorder it right now you can get $500 worth of Best Buy credit. The 57" Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 is the first Dual 4K UHD monitor. That's right, this monitor boasts a 7680x2160 resolution, or the equivalent of two 4K UHD monitors stacked next to each other. The Samsung "Neo G9" monitors are equipped with a Mini LED backlight combined with a quantum dot (QLED) panel. This is a high-end panel that you'll only find in top-shelf 4K TVs, or the most expensive 12.9" iPad Pro. It offers a much brighter image than OLED panels and offer better black levels and contrast ratios than LED LCD TVs.
Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 for $99
Amazon has just dropped the price of the professional-grade Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 Core to only $99.00, a nearly 25% price drop from its $129.99 MSRP. The Xbox Elite Series 2 Core wireless controller is fundamentally the same controller as the older generation Xbox Elite Series 2 controller, but at a considerably lower price point. The original Elite Series 2 controller commands a premium MSRP of $180 while the newer Elite Series 2 Core comes in at only $130. The differences are a lot more minor than you'd think given the price discrepancy. For starters, the Elite Series 2 Core is decked out in a two-tone black & white color scheme instead of the Elite Series 2's all-black styling. The original Elite controller also came with more stuff, including extra sets of paddles, thumbsticks, and another D-pad for ultimate customizability as well as a handy travel case. The Elite Series 2 Core doesn't come with any of those accessories. And that's where the differences end.
Samsung 990 Pro 2TB PS5 SSD with Heatsink for $149.99
Today, Amazon has dropped the price of the 2TB Samsung 990 Pro PCIe 4.0 NVMe solid state drive (SSD) with a preinstalled heatsink to only $149.99. That's the lowest price we've ever seen for what is currently the fastest SSD on the market. Note that this SSD was released in November of 2022 with an MSRP of $280. That's a pretty huge price drop on a flagship SSD in such a short amount of time.
The 990 Pro is currently Samsung's flagship SSD and it is one of the fastest, if not the fastest, PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSDs on the market. The Samsung 990 Pro is an excellent SSD for your PS5, although admitted it is overkill. Sony recommends a heatsink attached to your SSD. Fortunately, this particular 990 Pro does include a heatsink, and a nice thick, all-metal one at that.
Secretlab Early Black Friday Sale Deals
Black Friday is still months away, but Secretlab has decided to host an Early Black Friday Sale for those of you who can't wait that long for a new gaming chair upgrade. Save up to $150 in discounts on their most popular gaming chairs and gaming desks. The breakdown is as follows:

- Up to $150 Off Secretlab Classics gaming chairs
- Up to $100 Off Secretlab MAGNUS Pro gaming desk
- Up to $70 Off Secretlab MAGNUS gaming desk
- Up to $40 Off NeueChair task chair
It's no secret that we love our Secretlab gaming chairs. We've consistently rated them as the best high-end gaming chair on the market, as well as the best gaming chair for "big and tall" gamers. Of all the gaming chairs we covered in our "Budget to Best" roundup video earlier this year, Akeem considered the Secretlab Titan Evo to be the most comfortable. No good chair comes cheap, and Secretlab chairs definitely cost a premium, but we think the craftsmanship, materials, customer service, and customizability are worth it.
