Rudeus is no stranger to making problematic and even controversial descisions. It's part of what makes him so relatable as a character who is fundamentally flawed and makes mistakes. However, he made what was arguably his most questionable moral decision yet in Episode 6 of Season 2 when he engaged in the trade and purchase of a slave named Juliette. Rudeus has no issue with playing devil's advocate, and Mushoku Tensei uses that aspect of his personality to put him in positions that address deeper human issues.
