The latest confrontation between Batman and the Joker has certainly been unique. In truth, by the end of Batman #139 (by Chip Zdarsky, Jorge Jimenez, Tomeu Morey, Clayton Cowles) it isn't even the traditional Dark Knight who is fighting the Joker. What's fascinating was the build up to their physical confrontation. As Batman pursued the Joker into a mansion, the mad villain offered his own perspective on Batman's family, starting with the worst moment of Bruce Wayne's life: the death of his parents.
