Ahsoka marked the return of Huyang to the Star Wars universe. Professor Huyang is a droid who was first introduced in the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars, which revealed he was the Jedi Order's chief lightsaber architect. Despite being a droid and thus unable to wield the Force himself, Huyang was a crucial part of the Jedi Order's history. In fact, he was canonically powered up to serve the Order in the year 25,020 BBY, just five years after the Jedi Order was first established. This makes Huyang one of the oldest characters in Star Wars and witness to many major developments in galactic history.
