It's sadly time to say goodbye to one of the best comedies of the decade: What We Do in the Shadows is ending with its sixth and final season. Loosely based in the same universe as the 2014 New Zealand vampire mockumentary from Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi, the FX series became a hit in its own right by following a few vampire roommates and their human familiar in Staten Island as they (barely) attempt to conquer all of New York Ci-tay.
In IGN's 9/10 review of the series premiere back in 2019, Lauren Prudom wrote, "What We Do in the Shadows mines plenty of effective humor from the vampires’ discomfort with the human world, but much like the movie, the series really shines in the banter between the cast, and the surreal nature of their various supernatural abilities."

What Is What We Do in the Shadows: Season 6 About?
Here's the official Season 6 synopsis from FX:
"After a very brief stint as a full-blown vampire, Guillermo is re-evaluating his life. Who is he if not a familiar who will do anything to please his Master in hopes of one day being turned into a vampire? Meanwhile, the vampires are re-evaluating, too. When their former roommate reappears after a 50-year nap, they realize how little they’ve done in half a century – not one goal accomplished, not one dream pursued, not one part of the New World conquered (except for their street and part of Ashley Street).
"In the sixth and final season of the Emmy-nominated comedy, Nandor, Nadja, Laszlo, Colin, and Guillermo will enter the workforce, visit New Hampshire, go to a human dinner party, fête The Baron and conjure a demon – all while trying to find their place and their purpose in this crazy, mixed-up world."
