Starting classes in Elden Ring and other FromSoftware games work slightly differently than classes in other games. Rather than providing firm limits by shaping the character-building experience and playstyle for the rest of the game, as in many other RPGs, classes in Elden Ring determine the starting character's equipment and stats, nothing more.
