As part of our San Diego Comic-Con coverage (check out our full live show schedule here), IGN can exclusively reveal a clip from the upcoming Watchmen Chapter I, which you can watch via the player above or the below.
As an added bonus, Katee Sackhoff, the voice of Laurie Juspeczyk (aka Silk Spectre), introduces the clip, which shows Doctor Manhattan (Michael Cerveris) in a pretty tense spot.
The focus of the clip is an appearance on the Benny Anger talk show, where Anger notes that "the news overseas has everyone a little tense." Anger goes on to ask about Afghanistan before a reporter from the Nova Express jumps in and probes Manhattan about several people linked to him who had been diagnosed with cancer.
And while all this is going on, Laurie and Dan Dreiberg (Matthew Rhys) fight off attackers in a dark alley. In both situations, tensions are undoubtedly high.
Read the official synopsis for Watchmen Chapter I below:
In an alternate world history set in 1985, the murder of a government-sponsored superhero draws his outlawed colleagues out of retirement and into a mystery that threatens to upend their personal lives and the world itself.
As IGN previously revealed, Watchmen Chapter I will be released on Digital on August 13 and on 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray on August 27. Chapter II, meanwhile, will debut sometime later in 2024.
In addition to Sackhoff, Cerveris, and Rhys, the voice cast also includes Titus Welliver (Rorschach, Walter Kovacs), Troy Baker (Adrian Veidt, Ozymandias), Adrienne Barbeau (Sally Jupiter, Silk Spectre), Corey Burton (Captain Metropolis), Jeffrey Combs (Edgar Jacobi, Moloch), Grey DeLisle, Kelly Hu, John Marshall Jones (Hooded Justice), Max Koch, Phil LaMarr, Yuri Lowenthal (Wally Weaver), Geoff Pierson (Hollis Mason, Nite Owl), Dwight Schultz, Jason Spisak, Kari Wahlgren (Janey Slater), and Rick D.
