DC Comics, even more than Marvel, has always been strongly associated with the horror genre, especially since the Bronze Age and the decline of the Comics Code Authority. In fact, after EC's house of horror went out of business, DC became one of the strongest horror publishers in mainstream comics as well as the home of iconic superheroes. Even today, through imprints like Hill House and Black Label, DC continues to produce excellent horror stories through its comics.
