Loot is always a bit random in Fortnite, but there are a few guaranteed ways to get your hands on the weapon — as long as you have the bars for it.

How to get the Plasma Burst Laser in Fortnite

Plasma Burst Lasers can be found through your usual looting methods like through a chest or as floor loot, but there are also a few guaranteed locations, which we’ve noted in the list below and the map above:

• Blackwoods Black Market
• Rogue Repairs Black Market
• Crime City Vending Machines

The Plasma Burst Laser can be purchased at any of these locations for 600 bars. If you don’t have enough bars, you may need to complete one of the vault heists around the map!

How to use the Plasma Burst Laser in Fortnite

The Plasma Burst Laser is, well, a laser that shoots with directly where you’re aiming. The Plasma Burst Laser functions slightly differently from other weapons in Fortnite as it can be fired continuously until it overheats, and it uses durability rather than ammo. For each second the laser is fired, the durability of the weapon will decrease by one. Additionally, every couple seconds, a powerful beam will fire out of the weapon and deal explosive damage in a small area.

The Plasma Burst Laser are also particularly useful for when you’re opening a vault. Shooting a vault door with the Plasma Burst Laser will speed up the process, so you can grab your loot sooner!

How to collect mineral samples with the Plasma Burst Laser in Fortnite

As part of the Wanted: Joss story quests in Chapter 6 Season 2, you’ll need to collect mineral samples using a Plasma Burst Laser on a stone structure.

To collect mineral samples, equip your Plasma Burst Laser and shoot at any stone structure. It can be a wall, a fence, or even a rock. Once you’ve destroyed or dealt enough damage to the structure, a mineral will drop onto the ground for you to collect.
