Hideo Kojima: Connecting Worlds will premiere on Disney+ in spring 2024, offering audiences a rare insight into the creative process of the illustrious video game designer at the heart of the documentary.

Kojima, the mind behind the Metal Gear Solid and Death Stranding franchises, announced on X/Twitter that Glen Milner's Connecting Worlds documentary has found a home at Disney+ and will release early next year, following on from its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York in June 2023.

According to a blurb on Kojima Productions website, the documentary film explores "the power and potential of video games as an art form through the work of an influential talent" as Kojima sets about launching his own independent studio after parting ways with Konami in 2015 following a decades-long career there.

The documentary features contributions from visionary artists such as George Miller, Guillermo del Toro, Nicolas Winding Refn, Grimes, Woodkid, Churches, Mamoru Oshii, Shinji Mikami, Shinya Tsukamoto, and Norman Reedus, who, in the trailer for the film, likened working with Kojima to "stepping into Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory".

Kojima took to the stage at The Game Awards 2023 yesterday to reveal a trailer for OD (Overdose), an upcoming horror game/movie experience created in partnership with Xbox Game Studios and the Oscar-winning filmmaker Jordan Peele, who described the project as "completely immersive" and "utterly terrifying."
